Effective Expert Witnessing For OS&H Professionals

Training Objectives

  • To equip OSH professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills to become proficient expert witness in OSH litigation
  • Provide skill and knowledge to experienced safety practitioners to act as expert witnesses;
  • To allow clients/lawyers to have a wider choice of safety experts when needed;
  • To attract young safety practitioners to develop their career as experts;
  • To allow practicing safety officers to understand the work of Expert Witnesses in Court proceedings.

     

 Admission Requirement

  • Safety Professionals with adequate academic qualification, experience and involvement in OSH issues of various disciplines
  • Good command of written English and Chinese
  • A Bachelor Degree holder of relevant discipline
  • Registered Safety Officer 
  • Registered Safety Auditor
  • At least 5 years full-time experience in occupational safety and health
  • Applicants not meeting the above criteria can be considered based on individual merit
  • All application for enrollment must enclose a detailed type-written CV including academic qualification, professional qualification, work experience and other involvement in occupational safety and health
  • Note: OSHMI reserve the right to accept or reject any application without giving any reason.

Training Mode

Lectures, case studies, role play, assignment and end-of-programme project

 

Fee

$25,000 (with Early Bird discount of 20% ($20,000) if registered and paid in full before 20 July 2019 upon enrollment).

 

Training Dates & Time

Thursdays 17:00 p.m. – 21:30 p.m.

  • August 2019 - 8, 15, 22 & 29 
  • September 2019 - 12, 19 & 26 

  • October 2019 - 3, 10 & 24

  • November 2019 - 7, 14, 21 & 28

 

Certificate

  • A Certificate will be issued to candidates who have:

  • Not less than 70% attendance (10 lectures, late turn-up for 30 min or more will not be accepted as attendance to a lecture)

  • Satisfactory and timely submission/presentation of assignments / project

  • Active participation in case studies and role play in class

  • Certificate of Attendance will be issued to candidates who have not met any of the above criteria.

Remarks:The training programme will not commence if there are less than 10 candidates enrolled by 1 August 2019. All fee paid will be refunded in full to enrolled candidates without interest nor compensation. OSHC will award CPD hours with the submission of certificate and relevant course information upon completion of the course.
